As the first concept artist hired for the game, I got to have my hands in everything art related. I started with storyboards to help figure out the gameplay, then created concept art for the game assets and finally prepared UI icons and calligraphy for the logo, app icon, and other marketing assets.
I really enjoyed the creative freedom and responsibility in creating the in-game animatic trailer that tells the story how the world was consumed by the zombie apocalypse. From hashing out the story via storyboards with one of the co-founders and creating a rough animatic in After Effects to lay out the flow and composition of the shots, to creating most of the 2D assets. I also provided art direction for Witness, the animation studio that did the final animations and effects.
